How many of you come to WNOCC and take notes during introductions, business spotlight, member speakers, or simply during a conversation you are having getting to know another member or guest?

 

  • For one, it keeps me engaged and I do not get distracted with the “popcorn” going on in my brain telling me about all the other things I have on my to-do list.
  • It also reinforces your listening skills and keeps you from interrupting. If I am listening and questions or ideas pop up I get to write them down and ask questions once the person is finished instead of interrupting them.
  • Great way to also jot down your a-ha moments that you can reflect on later in more depth.
  • It is also a great way to follow up with the person at a later date and point out some of the important things you walked away with.
